FILING PERIOD IS OPEN

There are two full term board slots and then one to fill the remaining term of the recently vacated board position. The dynamics of the board could really change for the better or the people’s vote will be banal and status quo will prevail.

It is time for you to challenge yourself to step up to the plate and make a positive impact for Buffalo. Or encourage someone else to run for office.

This should not be a popularity contest. These are demanding positions and they deserve to be occupied by persons willing to commit lots of time and put forth honest efforts toward the issues that will be encountered.

Also the Town Treasurer's position is coming up.

Who is willing to stick their neck out? Is anyone out there up for the challenge?

  1. ARE YOU CRAZY!?!?!

I actually heard one potential candidate stating emphatically, "There is nothing wrong with the status quo."

I guess if you like not holding the employees accountable for their actions "okay", then go for it. Let's give them a raise! It offsets the fines doesn't it.. wait a minute that is so backwards.

Anyway, who has time to read the reports, check the facts, quiz theplayers, questions the status quo? Let's just let the ship sail without solid oars or rudders. Afterall, it hasn't run aground yet..well except for the landfill. Oh yeah, the sewer pond. Don't forget the streets heck, I'm running out of room.

Oh well, Good Luck to the new group of brave souls who step up into the shoes of government. Remember, they are not ruby slippers and you cannot just click your heels and fly out of the discussions.

    Chins up!

  2. Quote from anonymous above, "I guess if you like not holding the employees accountable for their actions." That my friend, is a two way street. You want them held accountable, but when they hold you accountable for your actions....you cry like a baby and throw one tantrum after another! What a hypocrite! Don't worry, whomever is seated on the board, will likely ignore you just like the ones seated now have done. Get used to it dapper Dan. Regarding your temper tantrum, well allow me to borrow a phrase from Dandy Don Meredith and Monday Night Football. "Turn out the lights, the party is over."

  3. To Author of "Dapper Dan" comment...

It really sounds like you are mad at someone, however you responded to me with your comments. It is obvious who you are referring to, slam-slam-slam. Enough.

One can only assume that you felt you were speaking to Mr. T as the previous post was very well written and has words written to insure a visual response.

Believe it or not, but there are many well read, articulate individuals in this town. Many of us have been here since well before Mr T ever arrived on the scene.

Quit the grand standing. No more chest puffing and/or beating. No more mud-slinging. Everyone has been pointing fingers outwards to the "outsider" who has had the audacity to look at the current situation and cry foul.

Please remember, the issues being looked at and addressed today have been building for years and overlooked continuously. Whom do we blame? Ourselves, shame on us for not being involved or for speaking out. Many, not unlike myself, have waited until there was a problem to peek from my safe harbor to see what the fuss is about.

I blame me. I blame you.

Now that we have decided whom to blame, can we now quit and just address how to fix things?

I shall name myself "Ostrich" on all future posts so that everyone knows I once had my head in the sand, just another of the herd.

That is a s brave as I can be at this moment. The ostracising and boycotting still sting and make many afraid. Again, shame on us for scaring or making ourselves feel threatened to voice or thoughts or opinions.

    Ostrich
