The much publisized vote for the Doby Springs sprinkler system is sure to pass due to the overwhelming positive feedback from all of the public meetings that were held at various locations.
ReplyDeleteOur esteemed town board at work again. What a joke!
ReplyDeleteDespite comments from the city treasurer concerning the city is spending more money than it is taking in, and despite unanswered questions about how the city was going to pay for this, the board voted 3 to 1 for the $297,000 sprinkler system for the golfers at Doby Springs. Interesting to note that the lone board member that is an avid player at this golf course voted against it.
ReplyDeleteThe Daley Carpenter Buss keeps on truckin'.
Does anyone really give a crap? I don't and neither does anybody else. Give it up Greg and Dave. Buffalo will continue to dig itself deeper and deeper and we'll all just go down with the ship.
ReplyDeleteWhat are we called? Sheeple?
Yessir.
This sitting town board is the biggest joke in northwest Oklahoma. They will go down in history as the dumbest, most uninformed, most stupid town board in all of recorded history. Can you can dumb-a** times 5 ????
ReplyDeletePunch in sovereign debt crisis into Google and learn all you can. Our economy is tanking and there isn't enough GDP to pay US debt now or in the future.
ReplyDeleteThe entire population of the US doesn't make enough money to pay off the debt and won't be able to pay anything but the interest payments on that debt.
The same is happening in Buffalo with this crazy outlay of funds. Now is not the time to be taking on such high debt. Our own Town Treasurer says it isn't in the budget!
That means the Town Board did exactly what our National leaders did. Put us in debt! We'll be in a position without enough income to pursue the more important expenses like infrastructure (roads, water pipes, sewer problems & more) because we'll be paying off this ridiculous sprinkler system and Buffalo's sovereign debt won't be able to be paid off while also maintaining the Town.
I would have liked to see an economic-feasibility study done.
What is the annual golf course revenue?
What are the costs of operations of Doby?
Was an apples to apples comparison done and what was the result?
Oh hell, that would have taken brains and a Buss has no brains, just a motor, a Carpenter should have at least enough of a brain to calculate measurement and the length of a board but I guess not in this instance and Daley? I don't have to say anything about that one.
Oh a study was done alright. A study of how many of their friends they could appease or impress by installing the sprinkler system. The same study was done on fire hydrants, asbestos laden water lines, excess of dumpsters, police officers hired, etc. To hell with what is needed. Their theory is lets appease friends, relatives, and important people. To hell with the rest of the folks, the town, and our town's future. Power mongers, the whole dang lot of them!! Our town board really sucks!!!!
ReplyDeletePut the new sprinkler system in town! In the center of Buffalo! we need it here more than Doby!
ReplyDeleteThe fire today required firemen to go to THREE different fire hydrants before they found one that worked!
Good thing it was only a garage structure and not a home with an elderly or disabled person in it. That kind of delay could cost lives!
I thought the Inside Buffalo guy was nuts but they called this one right.
For the record -
ReplyDeleteDavid Orange voted AGAINST this sprinker system. Susan Harper was out of town on a training issue and only found out it was on the agenda couple of days before she left, but has advised me that she was going to vote no on it also.
When they originally voted to try to get the grant it was with the understanding that if they were too much in debt due to the sewer system, etcetera, that when the grant "let" they could refuse it.
I guess the questions is: When is debt too much debt?
Don't shoot the whole board, make sure to check the voting records then sh## can those who spend money unwisely.
FIRE HYDRANTS STILL NOT WORKING
ReplyDeleteThere was a garage fire this week. The fire department showed up ready to go. However, the TOWN OF BUFFALO has still NOT FIXED THE HYDRANTS.
This issue has been brought up and brought up by at least one board member. Always told that "they were fixed or about done."
When two out of three hydrants they attempted to use to put out the fire did not work, has anyone else had about enough of this?
Did you know that they even attempted to use the water dock for the Town and IT wouldn't work.
What if this had been a house where you mother lived? How about a home full of small children? What about it being the nursing home or the school? Would you be up in arms then?
This was just a garage with a car in it. No one hurt. I guess that makes it OK for the town to not protect a car.
What if it were YOUR house?
Mad yet?
Myself I could care less about the golf course. The old course was just a pasture. I don't play golf, have no interest in golf and would bet there are a lot more people in town that feel the same way, but all of us pay for keeping the course all pretty and green, mowed, buying mowers and other equipment. I say turn the course over to those that use it and let them put in the sprinkler system. Does the course make enough money to even break even every month? Apparently not or the town wouldn't be willing to spend over a $100,000 to keep it green. Would the city be willing to put in other forms of activity the rest of us have interest in...NO!!
ReplyDeleteDid you know they took a dozer to the old townsite of Doby Springs and built terraces so water wouldn't run down onto the golf course. I realize that to most that would not be a big deal, but if you have an interest in history, seeing part of it destroyed just so a handful of people can go out and hit a little white ball around is upsetting. The old townsite should have been part of Doby Springs, it came close to being the county seat.
The other problems we have will go away after everyone in town has cancer from the asbestos in our water.
Indeed. Play golf before you die of cancer from the water pipes. Enjoy your home before it burns down from a fire because the fire hydrants don't work. Dig a hole in your back yard to poop in because our sewer system has failed. Lock your doors tightly because the cops are too cowardice to take a call by themselves. Enjoy what little stuff we have that still works because the money to fix anything will be all gone, having been spent on the golf course. Ridiculous. Next election, lets get the power mongers ass's out of there and seat a town board willing to roll up their shirt sleeves and take care of Buffalo.
ReplyDeleteAMEN
ReplyDeleteI realize that I'm a little late with a comment on this as I've been really busy the last few months but I don't know why in the world that the Town of Buffalo didn't just furnish every household with a PlayStation 3 and a Tiger Woods 2010 Golf Game. That would have been a fair use of the money as everyone would have received a basic unit and the golfers would have been pampered by receiving the golf game and the City would have saved enough money to fix a couple of fire hydrants I betcha! I tell ya....it just takes the "outsider" to come up with the logical and fair solution to the problem!!
ReplyDeleteSo did the group wanting dave out of Buffalo set the pub on fire just to get him to leave?
ReplyDeleteI hear all these rumors and it makes me wonder if those who were so loud about wanting to kick em outta town were behind the fire. I'm just sayin
Oh my goodness so much is going on in the city of wealth, beauty and fashion! I'm not on here for a few months and come back and there is so much to talk about. Hate it that the Pizza Pub is probably not gonna be rebuilt 'cause I did like the food. And of course I'm totally freakin' out over the expenditures at the golf course.....I mean, are you people who are authorizing all of this expense new to this planet or what??? I can't believe the way you spend money and what you spend it on. Why don't you fix some streets, some fire hydrants, burn down some old rotting houses....in other words - actually DO SOMETHING CONSTRUCTIVE THAT BENEFITS THE WHOLE COMMUNITY FOR A CHANGE???!!!??? And yes, I'm shouting 'cause you evidently cannot hear the residents of Buffalo voicing their needs and concerns. If ever an uprising of the citizens was called for.....I think this is the catalyst!!!!
ReplyDeleteYours Truly Truly,
NANCY DREW......Yup I'm baaaaacccckkkkkkkkk!!!
Naw Nancy. They way too busy hiring people without background checks, wasting money we dont have on the golf course, and walking around with their noses turned so high to the sky they will drown if it rains. This town board is a joke. The people seated on it are morons and certainly not prominent members of our society as they are so convinced they are. I need to point no further than the hiring of a police chief that showed up for his interview wearing a hot pink shirt, with gold jewelery draped around his neck and on every finger on both hands, wreaking of gallons of cologne, flying higher than a Georgia Pine. And to do no background check. I'm tellin ya, this board is beyond stupid. They are even past moronic. Neandratal comes to mind, although I am not sure they are even that bright.

Susan,
ReplyDeleteAs a town board member, I would like to ask you a question regarding our police department. Last night, my wife and I were on our way to town when we met two Buffalo Police cars headed out east of town with their lights and siren running. Being curious, we turned around to go see where they were going. They went to a house about a mile east of Buffalo. My question is, why are buffalo police officers answering calls out of town? And, is it really necessary for them to drive so fast? They must have been going 100 miles per hour. I don't know if someone was dying or what the problem was, but it seems to me that calls out of town should be answered by the sheriff's office, not by a couple of clueless goons who act like barney fife. Does the town board embrace the action of taking calls out of town?
I'm sure there was no deputy available at that time due to the fact they were most likely on 270 catching speeders.
ReplyDeleteShawn told me the reason they take calls outside the city limits, is because it is the only way the call will be handled properly. Sounded to me like he is on a bad ego trip.
ReplyDeleteWho did Shawn say that to? I'm interested in this.
ReplyDeleteHe said it to a whole group of us at Love's while we were waiting on subway sandwiches. He was telling us about how he had to go out and find a wreck the sheriff office couldnt find.
ReplyDeleteNoticed all the empty buildings on our main street, very sad. also noticed all the lagoons at the sewer pond have water.
ReplyDeleteSusan - Sorry this response is so late. Regarding the response to 1 mile outside of town.
ReplyDeleteOn that specific Wednesday, the sheriff office was down two officers. one was gone on vacation and one was on funeral leave. Buffalo helped cover this part of the county.
This is called a mutual aid agreement. It works both ways. When either party cannot cover their area due to "unforseen situations," we help each other out. It works the same way on the west side of the county with laverne helping out.
This is standard operating procedures and is a help to both the sheriff office as well as when our officers are unexpectedly pulled out. We work as a team and help each other out.
This is a good thing for the whole county as well as our community.
Thanks...any questions feel free to call me.
How funny---ha
ReplyDeleteI agree. Mutual aid my foot. More like over eager idiots that like to drive fast. Perhaps after they plow over someone and kills them, then maybe the board will grow some testicles and do something about them. Very sad that we have to endure these bone heads until someone either dies from them playing with their guns or runs over someone. I say at election time, out with all incumbents. Board members as irresponsible as these are, do not deserve to be voted back into office.
ReplyDeleteI really hope the town board fires him. If that doesn't happen, I am going to remove my three kids from Buffalo Schools. There is no way I am letting my kids attend a school where idiots with guns are allowed to pull the gun on teachers or anyone else. Can you say RIDICULOUS???
ReplyDeleteWhat the heck is up with our police chief?? I was told by a town board member that the police chief pulled his gun out and pointed it at another person while teaching a class at our school!! A loaded gun.. I can assure you that this will get swept under the table as usual. Something needs to be done about this and it needs to be handeled quickly. I think they should fire him over something like this and put Randy in as Chief of police. This classroom was filled with students. Can this not be criminal charges as well?? I spoke to a sheriff deputy about this and he said that they would investigate this if the City asked them to but so far the City of Buffalo hasn't asked them. The deputy said he felt embarrased over this situation even though he doesnt work for them but said it makes all of them look bad. Another bone I would like to pick is, why don't the city police ever patrol at night?? I hardly ever see them. People can say that there aint no crime in Buffalo all they want but we all know that there is. What about the drunks leaving the bar at night? What about the drugs being slung all over the place?? Randy seems interested in working but he told me his chief of police won't let him do anything. This is wrong folks!! That what he is paid to do so why is his boss telling him not to do anything?? I don't get it I guess.
ReplyDeleteHow about "reckless conduct with a firearm," or "feloniously pointing a firearm." If anyone else had pointed a gun at someone in school, they would be facing at least one of those criminal charges. Of course with Susan and Robin as his protector, I am betting nothing happens to him at all.
ReplyDeleteThis should be interesting.
ReplyDeleteSeveral other law enforcement departments advise yo either gore him or 30 days without pay......... his protectors are Robin and Georganna. Susan usually states a conflict of interest as a boss on two sides. Robin should too. Let the guys Angeles George decide.
Has the School Board weighed in on this? Isn't it a felony to draw a gun at school?
ReplyDeleteWhat would have happened in Woodward if this had happened? FIRED. What about Shattuck? FIRED What about OKC, Tulsa, ANYWHERE ELSE in Oklahoma? FIRED..
Why is he above the law? He screwed up. He plays with his gun all of the time. Everyone knows it! CAN'T SOMEBODY DO SOMETHING? Good Grief, you would've thought the Town had learned its lesson with the last schmuck we had in that position, this will be just another black eye if they don't do something now. Good Grief again.
Very sad
ReplyDeleteI learned yesterday that our chief will take his vacation starting tuesday and will be gone for all of homecoming week. How convenient that he leaves during one of the busiest weeks of the year. He is not only reckless with his driving and his firearm, but he is also lazy. Bet our town board doesn't do a dang thang about it.
ReplyDeleteHas anyone heard about the huge drug bust here in harper county?
ReplyDeleteHaven't heard anything about it.
ReplyDeleteA huge drug bust? I didn't know Jeremy was back in town!!!
ReplyDeleteThumbs up to Derek Seevers and the rest of the Harper County Sheriff's office!! If you haven't read the newspaper do so.. It talks about the drug bust that took place. I could not believe how much drugs they got. I just wished the paper would have put the names in the paper that got arrested. Marty Drew has done one heck of a good job since he has been sheriff. You just don't see this very often in these smaller departments.. Good job boys!!Look forward to more.
ReplyDeleteNow we gotta fill out their "specific" form? What a joke. Is this the road to not getting anything done again? Independent investigator? Really?
ReplyDeleteCity employee mowing his yard with city lawnmower on city time.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GRDenNiP5i0
Really a cop out isn't it? You do not need proper form to fire someone for gross job misconduct. Dont really care what lady lawyer says. Based on her recommendation, if he shoots someone and kills them while playing with his gun, according to her, if it isn't on the proper form then it never happened. So does that mean if it never happened, that the person shot somehow gets un-shot??? What a crock of crap. We need a new town board and a new lady lawyer that isn't such a dumb ass.
ReplyDeleteObviously shawne threatened to sue them if they fired him and now they are all afraid. Good grief people,Grow some balls and can his butt. After randy's comments at the town board meeting, I bet he and shawne will now have a marvelous working relationship. Wonder how we go about getting a recall pettion started to oust the entire town board.
ReplyDeleteI could not believe the way Randy SLAMMED Shawn.. I mean damn he flat out kicked him in the gut while he wasn't there to defend him. I bet he wouldn't have stated what he did if Shawn was there. WOW!!!
ReplyDeleteActually, I applaud Randy for having the nerve to stand up and speak the truth. What a shame his words fell on the deaf ears of three of the most dim witted female town board members on the whole planet. Those three are content to let shawn play with his gun in school, drive like a demolition derby king, and ignore the important folks that break the law. Yes indeed, Shawn is their little buddy. Remember.... if it aint on their official paper it didn't happen. And once you put it on their official paper, it will still be like it didn't happen. Somebody needs to pull the string on their tampons and then flush THEM down the toilet. Keep the tampons, they at least have some value.
ReplyDeleteWhat's a shame is the fact that you have negated your own thoughts and comments with the vulgarity used in your post. Should you want to be taken seriously then try refraining from inflammatory remarks. Obviously you're frustrated and upset like many, however you've already lost your argument and voice with the words used..... You need to be heard and deserve to be heard, so let yourself be heard and make it where they can't blow you off as a hot head! Just my take, no preaching intended.
ReplyDeletem.e.
Where exactly is the vulgarity? I would assume you are referring to the use of the word tampon. A tampon is a valuable necessity for females and has an incredible value to them. On the other hand, the town board members the comments were directed at, are pretty much useless and as far as I have observed, have no value whatsoever.
ReplyDeleteI see Shawn is back from vacation and it is back to business as usual. So much for their private investigation. I knew nothing would become of it. What a crock!!!!
ReplyDeleteheard it through the grapevine - OSBI was asked to an investigation. Heard some were done already.
ReplyDeleteWas told same. If it takes long enough maybe we will have new board members on who will actually do something. If it were you or I who had pulled a loaded gun at the school we would have been fired, roasted, peeled, staked and fed to the cheickens. What is the hold up!
ReplyDeleteNot only did he pull a loaded gun at school, but he also pointed that loaded gun at someone in front of a classroom full of students. He should be held accountable. The town board should move swiftly and fire him. But I bet they don't do anything.!!!
ReplyDeleteIf it had been your child in the room Mrs B how would you respond. Mrs H has a child in it. Has anyone asked her what she feels should be done? It was an illegal /foolish/dangerous/inappropriate actthat must be addressed.
ReplyDeleteAre you waiting to see if this will go away on its own. I know of one family checking into legal action if nothing is done by the Town or the school. Could get interesting.
This personof authority has a history of playingwith his gun. At the diner the ems bludgeon the fire station at musical practice even during sheriff training classes.it is an accident waiting tohappen. If you think they don't then just ask the officer from Seiling who recently shothis best friend in the foot. And no he no lingers works there.
ReplyDeleteHey, great city of Buffalo.....what's new? I've been busy working and haven't been able to be on here and catch what's going on. Any new ridiculous spending? Any great name calling and finger pointing? Fill me in.....I'm suffering a huge case of boredom!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYours Truly, Nancy Drew
Not much Nancy. Just a police chief pointing his gun at people in front of a classroom full of students and driving like Buffalo in the Indianappolis Motor Speedway. And of course the "do nothing about it" town board. How have ya been???
ReplyDeleteyou all know he's getting away with what he did. because if any thing was too be done ,the MAYOR should of called a special meeting the next day. If I was Mayor I would of already been done. I would suppend him until all facts from osbi ect were in.
ReplyDeleteRandy is going to Seiling PD. Now if we CAN the Chief due to his actions we can wipe the slate clean and begin with a fresh start. BUT this means the Board actually has to stand up and do something. Wanna know what is ironic? MrO and Mr C want him gone, Ms D and Mrs B want to scold him. That leaves the tie breaker to Mrs H. who recused herself from the original hiring of hime due to a conflict.
ReplyDeleteReady for the next installment of Buffalo Bumbling Bubbas....
Wow did it get wuiet on this site.
ReplyDeleteWhat's the matter? It seems that one of your own homegrown is now on the hot seat and you cannot voice your opinions out loud.
Wrong is wrong. No matter who did it. If it had been anyone else in this town who had pulled a gun in school in front of kids they would have been been charged with reckless endangerment at the least. What about holding a gun to an unarmed man - no matter the reason - isn't that actionable? Come already. A town cannot clean up anything until it cleans up itself. This is just another double-standard that this community supports. Talk about a sad situation. Shame, shame, shame.
Go figure. Robin and Georgeanna are the nitwits that hired him in the first place. Now, in light of one of the stupidest moves ever by a police officer, they wanna just slap him on the wrist. What bumbling idiots they are. Holy cow!!!!!! Wish the tv show, "Thats Incredible" was still aired. Their idiotic tolerance of this event would definitely make the show.
ReplyDeleteThe police chief actually pointed his gun at someone in a classroom???? Tell me it isn't so!!!! I just took up skeet shooting and one of the first things the "laymen" told me was to never point your gun anywhere but down even if you KNEW it was unloaded. Gee willikers people was he reprimanded? Suspended without pay? What's the deal? I know it was probably done in a demonstration of some kind but regardless of why, it was WRONG and a police officer of all people should know better than to do something like that..and in front of children no less! Please tell me that something was done about this!!!!
ReplyDeleteYours truly, Nancy Drew
P.S. Anonymous, thanks for askin' I've been doing great, just work way tooooo much!
I learned today that our illustrious town board met at a special meeting this week and voted to punish our police chief over the gun incident at school. The punishment they doled out was a two week suspension. Wow! Now that is pretty darned harsh isn't it?? I mean, all he did was pull a loaded gun and feloniously point it at someone in front of a classroom full of students. Why such harsh punishment??? I mean, after all, they could have let him take two weeks of his vacation to cover the suspension. OH WAIT. They did let him take two weeks of his vacation time to cover the suspension. So in effect, he got paid a two week paid vacation for pulling, and pointing his firearm in front of a classroom full of students. Not Bad chief!!! I mean to pull a crime of that magnitude and then get paid for it, well that is a truly remarkable feat. I am soooooooo proud of our town board. NOTTTTTTT
